So we dashed from Colorado Springs to Kansas City, MO (also known as the "City of Fountains") to photograph two fountains for an ad agency in San Francisco. Tom needed to get a shot of the JC Nichols Memorial Fountain, and being a gorgeous Saturday afternoon, it seemed like every bride in KCMO was having their bridal party photographed at the fountain. In the first hour we witnessed 6 bridal parties descend on the fountain - it was getting a little West Side Story. I was totally waiting for the brown party and the black & pink party to start throwing rocks at each other as they jockeyed for position and great hair light.
Ultimately we had to return to the fountain at 5:30am on Sunday morning to get a clear shot of the foutain. We also shot the Henry Wollman Bloch Memorial Fountain at Union Station, which was way easier as it is located in an island at the drop off/turnaround at the station. For a modern fountain, I found it quite striking.
Here are my snaps - visit the Flickr page if you want captions and comments. Little Kitty is thrown in at the end for good measure.
