Family friend and über-talent Bob Bralove is in Boston for a three day symposium at UMass Amherst entitled "Unbroken Chain: The Grateful Dead In Music, Culture, and Memory." I tossed out a (hopeful) request for him to present his most recent work at a department meeting, and while he was surprised - he said yes! His work joining art and music and electronics was inspiring and astounding and wicked cool.

One of the glories of Boston is that it is small enough to run into people. This is my former Governor's office co-worker Stacy, with her delightful (and very sleepy) brandy-new boy. We ran into them at the South End's super-delicious spot the South End Buttery.
