Hail to the Chief. Hail to all of Us.

I can't add anything to the excitement of today's momentous inauguration of the 44th President of the United States Barack Hussein Obama. I was so happy that the sky was blue and it didn't rain or snow - the cold seemed bearable to those in attendance given the smiling and cheering and dancing that went on non-stop since dawn.

I was delighted that the moment President Obama had been sworn in the whitehouse.gov website refreshed and announced "Change has come." (I note for the record that parents no longer have to fear whitehouse.com as it now appears to be a news aggregator after years of being everyone's favorite accidental porn site.)

The Obama family looked fabulous today. I LOVED LOVED LOVED the ensemble created by the FABULOUS Isabel Toledo (seen on this blog in 2007.)

Michelle takes off the coat at the inauguration luncheon to reveal a charming sweater over the dress. Beautiful touch Isabel!

Ms. Aretha Franklin. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways:
1. I love your voice
2. You were the first one to make me cry today
3. You rocked a church lady hat like nobody's business

The girls and their Nana. I think the United States may come to appreciate family a little more while there are little ones in the White House. Little ones and their Nana. That is awesome.

I watched the inauguration with about 200 of my co-workers, many of them young people and I am overwhelmed still at their enthusiasm and their openness and joy over Obama's election. What a treat to work in a place that embraced the notion of celebrating the inauguration together.

The only way we can make things better is together, so rock on Americans, I'm so proud of you.
