Like Clockwork

I must be the luckiest girl to never win the lottery (yet.) Every three years TO THE MONTH since I moved back to Boston from Los Angeles I have been called for jury duty. Twice to Middlesex District in Cambridge (dismissed once since I knew the judge, once because no trials in progress) once to Federal court (spent two days in jury selection for a huge pharma case) and last time to Malden District Court (didn't get picked for a piddling, stupid traffic case, but lost the entire day.)

Today, surprise/not, came the juror summons to the Moakley Federal Court in June. It is my duty as a citizen to appear, and I will, but ay yi yi people, haven't you learned you'll never pick me?

New and Shiny

The silver Sea Star.  Did you know Starfish are actually called Sea Stars? National Geographic says these beauties are more akin to Sea Urchin and are not fish. I gotta go with the NatGeo opinion. I think this fine silver version is more akin to gorgeous than fish. And that's all I have to say about that.

EPIC AWESOME (Frail Whale Rules!)

So this week has been pretty crazy and it's only Wednesday.

On Monday I put a few new items in my shop and sent a short message on Twitter. Those new items would be Frail Whale No. 1, Frail Whale - Standard Edition, and Frail Whale No. 2.

Those of you familiar with Twitter, will understand my reference to the microblog's "Fail Whale" who pops up periodically when the service is struggling to handle the volume of messages.

To my utter delight the blog AdRants wrote a blurb about Frail Whale and then Universal Hub added Frail Whale to a post about a Boston Globe article about 'Twitterati'.

Even AWESOMER, Mark Hoppus (hottie singer) of Blink182  wrote about Frail Whale on his blog! (Psyched the band is rehearsing again!)

All of this drove a ridiculous number of visitors to the blog and to my Etsy Shop. So welcome the Frail Whales (Currently undergoing cosmetic surgery, new and improved available soon!) and all the fine folks now joining @modamags in Twitterland! 

And thanks to the mysterious workings of the Internets!

On Becoming a Photo Blog

I'm not planning on just being a photo blog, but I can't form a sentence right now. Here is another thing I made (A Family Bracelet.) I like it. Must go back to "work work" now. Sorry for the delay in amusing sentences. Red Sox opening day delayed until tomorrow. Maybe words tomorrow. Work now.

Still Crazed, But Bright Spots Abound

Did I say in the last post that I was waiting for things to get back to normal? Ha! Ha I tell you!

While not living in the fantasy that things will get back to normal, or slow down or even ease up - I will take some pleasure in special work for happy customers.
